Cluster tiers: S, M, and L

The differences between Cluster S, M, and L — hardware, capacity, and when to choose each.

Overview

Aureus offers three cluster tiers. Each is a dedicated bare metal deployment — no shared hardware, no shared tenants. The difference is raw compute capacity and the number of production services you can run.

Tier CPU RAM Storage Network Price
Cluster S 16 vCPU 32 GB DDR5 500 GB NVMe 1 Gbps $2,000/mo
Cluster M 32 vCPU 64 GB DDR5 ECC 2 TB NVMe 5 Gbps $5,000/mo
Cluster L 64 vCPU 256 GB DDR5 ECC 8 TB NVMe RAID 10 Gbps Custom

Cluster S

Designed for a up to 2 production applications. Enough headroom for serious traffic, high-availability deployments, and room to grow. Ideal for early-stage companies and focused products that don't need multi-service orchestration.

Cluster M

The most popular tier. Supports up to 5 production services with full HA control plane on dual nodes. The DDR5 ECC memory and 2 TB NVMe storage are suited for data-intensive workloads and APIs with high concurrency. Includes a monthly infrastructure report.

Cluster L

Multi-region, multi-node fleet for enterprise-scale operations. Pricing is negotiated based on architecture requirements. Contact us to discuss.

Upgrading

Upgrading from S to M or M to L is a planned migration, not a live resize. We handle it with zero downtime during a maintenance window you agree to in advance.
