Infrastructure across multiple regions

Aureus operates bare metal infrastructure across multiple geographic regions, giving you the ability to deploy close to your users or meet data residency requirements without managing the underlying hardware yourself.

When you request a cluster, your account manager works with you to determine the optimal region based on your latency targets, compliance needs, and budget. You don't pick a datacenter from a dropdown — you tell us where your users are, and we make it work.

Current regions

Aureus currently has active infrastructure presence in the following regions:

  • Europe (Frankfurt, DE) — Primary region. Low-latency coverage for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Hosted on dedicated bare metal with 10Gbps uplinks.
  • North America (US East / US West) — Available on request for accounts with US-based user bases or compliance requirements. Provisioned on dedicated nodes via our hardware partners.
  • Asia Pacific (Singapore / Tokyo) — Available for Cluster M and Cluster L tiers. Contact your account manager to discuss availability and lead times.

Additional regions are evaluated continuously. If you have a specific geographic requirement not listed above, reach out — we'll tell you honestly whether we can serve it today or give you a timeline.

How region selection works

Region is set at cluster creation time and cannot be changed without provisioning a new cluster. This is intentional — bare metal hardware is physically located in a specific facility, and migrating a live cluster across datacenters is not a zero-downtime operation.

If you need multi-region deployments (for example, active-active or active-passive setups across two regions), this is handled at the Cluster L tier. Your embedded DevOps engineer designs the cross-region architecture, replication, and failover strategy as part of the engagement.

Infrastructure partners

Aureus provisions hardware through a combination of dedicated bare metal providers depending on the region and cluster tier. For smaller clusters (S and M), we typically work with high-density European and US bare metal providers. For larger or enterprise deployments, we provision directly through AWS bare metal instances or Hetzner dedicated servers, giving us the density, redundancy, and network peering your applications need.

In all cases, the hardware is dedicated to your account. We do not share physical nodes between customers.

Network and connectivity

All clusters are provisioned with:

  • 1Gbps minimum uplink (10Gbps available on request for Cluster M and L).
  • DDoS mitigation at the network edge.
  • Private networking between nodes within the same cluster.
  • Static IPv4 address assigned to your cluster upon provisioning.

Latency expectations

Typical round-trip latencies from major population centres to Aureus infrastructure:

  • London → Frankfurt: ~10ms
  • New York → US East: ~15ms
  • São Paulo → US East: ~110ms
  • Singapore → Singapore/Tokyo: ~5ms

If latency is a critical factor for your application, mention it during onboarding. We'll help you choose the right region and architecture.
